Melendez running into new season at Navarre

Sebastian Melendez hasn’t played running back for quite some time. He’s spent most of his high school career with the Navarre Raiders as a linebacker.

But he’ll be shifting gears a bit this fall. While Melendez will still be a presence on the defensive side of the ball, he’ll also have the ball in his hands on offense as he splits time at running back.

Raider band camp brings marching band out of hibernation

After taking a year and a half hiatus, marching band is back, and the Navarre High School Raider Band is ready to march on the field again. Last year, the band was only allowed to have a pep band during football season.

“No one was allowed to march, so we just played in the stands,” Navarre High School band director Dean Barrow said.
