11/24 – Pensacola Ice Flyers Thanksgiving Eve

It’s the season to give thanks! Get the family together the night before Thanksgiving and join the Ice Flyers for an exciting hockey game! There will be special prizes that evening for donating items for those in need and some fun Thanksgiving activities for the entire family to enjoy!

11/26 – WSRE to help kick off Pensacola Winterfest with first Festival of Trees

WSRE will help kick off the holiday season this year with the PBS station’s first Festival of Trees, a benefit for the WSRE-TV Foundation, taking place Nov. 26–28 at the Museum of Commerce in the Pensacola Historic District. Trees and wreaths, decorated by local designers, will be on display throughout the museum’s turn-of-the-century street scene and available for purchase through online auction bidding. Admission is free. The WSRE Festival of Trees has been scheduled in conjunction with the kickoff of Pensacola Winterfest and will be located next to the Cajun Christmas performance in Historic Pensacola Village. For sponsorship information or to inquire about contributing a tree or wreath design, contact Tracie Hodson at 850-484-1246.

11/27 – Choctawhatchee Audubon Society Bird Walk

On Saturday, Nov. 27 the Choctawhatchee Audubon Society will take a walk around the coast and parks of Destin with Bruce Purdy. The group will be meeting promptly at 7:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the CVS at the corner of RT 98 and Main Street in Destin. Please remember to wear long pants, closed shoes and a hat. Bring bug spray as the chiggers are biting. Participants are encouraged to bring snacks or lunch. If you have any questions, call Bruce Purdy at 306-359-5334. 11/27 – Small Business Saturday – Holiday Market (Mobile, AL)

Shop Small this Small Business Saturday in Downtown Mobile, located on Dauphin St. between Franklin St. and Hamilton St. The streets will be closed, and local vendors will be set up for you to begin your holiday shopping while supporting your small local businesses! From 8 to 10 a.m., you can help protect sea turtles and other imperiled species through a citizen science program that allows volunteers to take an active role in the war against marine debris. Volunteers collect trash from different areas along the 4.5 miles of Navarre Beach and record data that is forwarded to state and federal agencies. Meet in the main Navarre Beach parking lot near the Sand Crab Pavilion. A limited supplies of gloves, buckets and pickers are provided, or bring supplies. 12/03 – Milton Christmas Lighted Boat Parade

12/04 – Annual Navarre Christmas Parade and Christmas in the Park

8513 Navarre Pkwy., Navarre. Navarre Park. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Parade starts at 1 p.m. The Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Christmas in the Park “Joy To The World!” presented by Walmart-Navarre and the Navarre Neighborhood Market and the Annual Navarre Community Christmas Parade presented by PrimeLending. The Parade starts at the Navarre Library and runs south on Presidio St., left on Esplanade St. and ending in the back parking lot of Centennial Bank. Local artists and crafters will gather with great gifts at the Merry Market, take photos with Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the Grinch. 12/04 – Milton Christmas Parade

5629 Byrom St., Milton. Parade starts at 6 p.m. The Santa Rosa County Chamber of Commerce will host the annual Milton Christmas Parade “A Toy Christmas” presented by Sport & Wheat Certified Public Accountants. The parade starts at the Milton Community Center, runs north to James St., east on James St. to Stewart St., and then south on Stewart St. to Elva St. For more information visit www.srcchamber.com or call 850-623-2339.

12/04 – Navarre Jingle Bell Run

The annual Jingle Bell Run hits the streets Dec. 4, but registration is underway. This is a family event for all ages that begins at 8 a.m. at Holley-Navarre Fire District’s main fire station at 8618 Esplanade St., Navarre. Long sleeve T-shirts are guaranteed to the first 200 recipients. Registration closes Dec. 2. Race packet pick-up is Dec. 3 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the fire station. Participants will also be given a jingle bell. Costumes are encouraged, with a special prize awarded to the most festive participant. Leashed pets are welcome.

Saturdays – Navarre Garden Club’s Green Thumb

The Green Thumb Nursery on Hwy 399 just west of Hwy 87 is open every Saturday from 10-2. The nursery offers a wide variety of trees, shrubs, annuals & perennials. You will also find houseplants, succulents, native plants, pollinator plants etc. Most plants are coming from members’ yards. Since they have been grown here, you know that they will thrive in your yard. The site also hosts the club’s craft sales shop. Various crafts and yard art, made by club members, are offered for sale. Visit display gardens and shop their nursery and crafts. Members are happy to offer information and advice to help you achieve the look you want in your garden.
