A promising sea turtle nesting season on Navarre Beach suffered significant losses after Tropical Storm Bertha.

Charlie Kirk memorial reef launched off Destin
An artificial reef honoring political activist Charlie Kirk was deployed off Okaloosa County earlier this month. Kirk was murdered last year during a debate event in Utah.
The 18-ton, 20-foot-tall concrete reef structure, which resembles a pyramid, sits beneath 80 feet of water and will serve as a reminder of some of the values Kirk stood for.
