Out and About

Fourth of July at Navarre Beach was the most patriotic event I can remember in my years in Navarre. The Navarre Beach Fourth of July Hometown Celebration and Children’s Parade was pure magic with more than 100 children participating in the parade. They decorated tricycles, bicycles, batons, children and even a little front-end loader and paraded around the parking lot led by the Cat Country 98.7 Cat and Jenna Scott to patriotic tunes compliments of Systems of Sound (Bob Levison).

Leading with the truth

We commend District 4 Commissioner Rob Williamson on his latest video. It is powerful, emotional and he speaks publicly on a very private issue – addiction. He has never made a secret of his alcohol addiction. And now he has disclosed he was “using” as well. We applaud his recovery and his claim of 10 years of sobriety.

Keeping us informed

Not all residents of our community have computers and the bigger newspapers only care about the larger cities around us. You are doing a great job letting us know about places and events in Navarre we need to support. Keep up the good work!

Students to bring Arctic research to Navarre classroom

Cutting their way through the ice of the Arctic Circle aboard the research vessel Akademik Ioffe, a team of natural and social scientists, students and a professional film crew will be conducting groundbreaking research into the changing nature of the top of the world.
