You can always tell when a politician feels he’s losing…he becomes desperate.  The mailer received in the mail Saturday from Rob Williamson has the stink of swamp water all over it.  He claims he’s been attacked by “Never Trump Republicans.” Further, he says his opponent, Dave Piech, is supported by those who “refused to back Donald Trump against Hillary Clinton.”  Well I, along with many others who back Dave Piech are “Always Trumpers,” and Rob Williamson just pulled a Hillary. He might as well have called us deplorables. Rob should have photo-shopped a picture of himself standing alongside Hillary and Pelosi, instead of using President Trump in a feeble attempt to advance his candidacy.

I deactivated my Facebook account in 2016.  Therefore, I have no idea what has been said there regarding the candidates seeking office this year.  I formed my opinion on who was best for the job by actually meeting both gentlemen and having rather lengthy discussions with them.

At Thursday’s Board of County Commissioners meeting, things got a little tense during a presentation by Whispering Pines resident Heidi Allgood. During her presentation she talked about how the residents there felt they could not reach out to their District 4 Commissioner, so instead they chose to go to the Chairman of the Board, Commissioner Cole. They exchanged emails with Cole, hoping to get answers to their questions regarding the impact the proposed Creet’s Landing development would have on their homes.

The AP, USA Today, Huffington Post, New York Times, among others, are reporting on suicide, a sad, alarming situation, last reported in-depth in the 90s. They’re quoting experts in suicide prevention. While so-called pundits encourage calling the many suicide prevention centers, hotlines, reporters are warned in effort to avoid copycat suicides, to keep people from committing suicides.

Tears of joy and gratitude consumed me on hearing all were rescued in the Thailand cave tragedy. I’m looking forward to 20/20’s documentary tonight.

Thank you for printing information on the candidates. It gives us time to examine their records or what they feel is important to Navarre. Not all residents of our community have computers and the bigger newspapers only care about the larger cities around us. You are doing a great job letting us know about places and events in Navarre we need to support. Keep up the good work!

In the wake of the truly sad, and truly unnecessary shooting and killing of 5 Newspaper Staff at the Capitol Gazette in Annapolis, Maryland, I want to express to you all how much your newspaper, and the hard work you do to get our local news out, means to the small town community of Navarre.

Have you had enough? Every issue is politicalized and discussed with emotion instead of logic. In many cases, the discussion is simply a lie. If a lie is repeated enough times, uninformed people begin to believe the lie.
