‘Turner House’ lawsuit heads to mediation

A judge has ordered Santa Rosa County and the owners of the “Turner House” to head to mediation before an April court date.

The mediation would attempt to resolve issues lingering from a 2016 lawsuit the county filed against Staci and Gary Turner, live out of state but own the home at 7315 Gulf Boulevard on Navarre Beach. The lawsuit has been amended multiple times in the last five years.

Hundreds turn out to cheer special prom guests

It might have rained on this parade, but it didn’t matter. Hundreds of people in the community came out Feb. 12 to shower the special needs guests of Night to Shine with love and support. There were 64 guests and close to 250 volunteers, all of whom celebrated in the rain Friday night.

Mid-week may bring new round of severe weather

Northwest Florida residents are being urged to beware of black ice overnight and into Tuesday morning. The thin icy glaze may appear to motorists that the road is simply wet. It may remain until temperatures rise above freezing.

But once temperatures warm enough to eliminate that risk, the area may be looking at severe storms developing Wednesday night into Thursday morning, according to local officials .

PAWS rescues 77 animals, finds others dead

Dead piglets and chickens in various states of decomposition. Hogs standing in 3 feet of their own feces and urine, feeding on the dead. Emaciated horses with open sores. No clean water. Horse skulls, jawbones and cow horns scattered across the filthy property.
