This will be a big week for those who have been keeping a close eye on Santa Rosa’s battles over water.
Thursday night is when the Santa Rosa County Commissioners are expected to lay their Dec. 10 vote to rest, by voting against that plan to repeal some wellfield protections.

Investigators were called to a death investigation at the Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office detention facility. An inmate was located in a cell and appeared to be deceased, according to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office. Emergency life saving measures were immediately provided by deputies and facility medical staff.
At this time, Major Crimes Detectives are working this case as a possible suicide, the release said, adding that it appears to be an isolated incident. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
On Feb. 6, a crowd of about 30 friends and supporters looked on as a ribbon was cut marking the official opening of Grace’s Place, a place where “healed broken chicks (help) broken chicks heal.”

Like the Federal government functions on the principal of subdividing its lawmaking (the Congress), law administration (the Executive), and law interpretation (the Judiciary) duties to prevent abuses against citizens, so too must Santa Rosa County.
