A 19-year-old Gulf Breeze woman was taken into custody by Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies on Oct. 11 after being involved in two home invasions in one night.
Jameson Ray Willis had been put down for a nap but managed to get out of the house, which was locked and barricaded to prevent him from wandering off, his foster parent told Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office. The foster dad and his daughter searched the property, before finding the little boy in a pond. His foster dad began CPR on the child, who was taken by helicopter to Sacred Heart Hospital. The Sheriff’s Office is investigating but said preliminary reports indicate it was an accidental drowning.
Commissioner James Calkins has ideas on how to fix the county’s stormwater problems.
They include listening to the ideas of the current Local Mitigation Strategy (LMS) volunteer taskforce which, by the way, have been looking at stormwater issues for many years.
One word that I would never use to describe myself is “athletic.” I played baseball in a municipal league in my youth, but I hung up my cleats and became a musician.
