I was out and about at Juana’s Good Time Regatta this weekend. Kaitie Kiger covered the event on Saturday in a chase boat and I went out on a chase boat Sunday to take pictures.

This was the team at Juana’s/Sailors Grill’s 33rd year organizing and running this event, which is a tremendous asset for our community.

The Santa Rosa County Commission is expected to approve the revised Land Development Code at a special meeting Monday.

With that in mind, we’d like to share some observations about one of the recurring themes of the last few months’ debates: the alternative subdivision provision.

Mango Mary’s closes, owner says new concept on horizon

After little over a year of serving drinks and waterfront views, Mango Mary’s Beach Kitchen and Daiquiris has closed. Labor Day weekend was the final served as the bar’s finale.

On Thursday, Aug. 31, Clint Boutwell, the owner of Mango Mary’s, announced the closure of the bar after 14 months.

Navarre United Methodist holds ribbon cutting for renovated Hildreth Hall

Navarre United Methodist Church invited congregants and community members to the grand re-opening of Hildreth Hall Sunday, Sept. 3. NUMC lead pastor David Morris and children’s pastor Christine Gersic spoke about what went into remodeling the space, which will now serve as a place for children’s and youth ministries.

Curtis among top runners for Raiders at Stampede

Area teams competed at the Gulf Coast Stampede Saturday at the Escambia County Equestrian Center in Pensacola.

The meet featured runners from 13 states on a morning that began with a slight chill in the air but warmed up as time went on.

A decade later, Tiffany Daniels’ family still holding onto hope

More than 600,000. That’s how many people go missing in the United States each year, according to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons (NamUS) database.

While most of those missing persons are recovered, either dead or alive, (89 to 92 percent according to NamUS) there are still plenty of people who remain missing for years. One such missing person is Tiffany Daniels, a then 25 year old woman from the Pensacola area.

Cook: County to advertise RFPs for old courthouse
