Over the past 20 years, I have lived in two different houses on Ortega Street. And now within a half-mile radius, we have the high school, the sports complex and the YMCA.

We have seen multiple deaths, injury and destruction of property due to speeding and reckless driving (IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA).

At a Feb. 21 Sunday mass, the St. Sylvester’s chapter of the Columbiettes presented a $2,500 donation to the Pregnancy Resource Center of Navarre (PRCN).

The funds were raised from the sale of a church cookbook. Chapter president, Angela Edwards and Financial Secretary, Ann Teston, presented the check to PRCN Executive Director Betsy Bower and Ellen Stanley, director of client services.

When County Administrator Dan Schebler met with department heads last year and asked them to prepare a plan to share with commissioners Feb. 23, he wasn’t specific about what he expected.

What Tourism Development Director Julie White came up with was “Navarre Beach Reimagined,” a proposal that suggests giving Navarre Beach an amphitheater, shopping area, gathering places, a playground and art in public places, among other ideas.
