Rachel Leggett’s third season of college basketball came to a close Tuesday afternoon in the Sun Belt Conference tournament.
Leggett and the South Alabama Jaguars lost 73-59 to Marshall in an opening round game at the Bay Center in Pensacola.

Hundreds came to Curious Apples Saturday, March 1, in support of Team Jackson, a fundraiser for a Navarre child with cancer. While they are still tallying the numbers, the effort is estimated to have already raised nearly $11,000. Online supporters also contributed to the fundraiser.

Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola has been named as one of the world’s best hospitals in 2025, according to Newsweek. The magazine looked at data comparing 2,400 facilities across 30 countries to come up with the list.

Another college announced it will close at the end of this academic year. This time it’s Northland, which is an NCAA Division III school in Wisconsin.
It certainly won’t be the last school to close its doors forever because the reality in this ever-changing small college landscape is that plenty of other colleges are in danger of being shuttered.
