Relief still available through SBA for Florida private nonprofits hit by May 2024 tornadoes
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is reminding eligible private nonprofit (PNP) organizations in Florida of the March 17 deadline to apply for low interest federal disaster loans to offset economic losses caused by the severe storms, straight-line winds and tornadoes that occurred May 10, 2024.

Publix ties Trader Joe’s for customer satisfaction amongst grocers
A Florida icon is sitting atop recent national rankings.
Publix, a 95-year-old grocery chain based in Lakeland, Florida, has tied Trader Joe’s for the top spot in customer satisfaction within the grocery sector. According to the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), Publix and Trader Joe’s share a score of 84 out of 100, which is five spots above the national average (79) for the overall grocery sector.

Southeastern Grocers announces new ownership of some Winn-Dixie brand stores
A consortium of private investors, spearheaded by the current CEO and President of Southeastern Grocers Inc. (SEG), Anthony Hucker and C&S Wholesale Grocers, announced it acquired Southeastern Grocers and its Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket banners from ALDI U.S. ALDI U.S. previously purchased Southeastern Grocers in March 2024.

Florida Attorney General: Acadia Healthcare committed Medicaid and Medicare fraud
The Florida Attorney General’s Office’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit secured more than $2.2 million for the Florida Medicaid program from Acadia Healthcare Company, Inc. Acadia, a health care provider based in Tennessee, alleged to have violated the Federal False Claims Act and the Florida False Claims Act by submitting false or fraudulent claims for inpatient behavioral health care to Medicaid and Medicare.

Navarre Chamber’s Roaring 20s Snowbirds event a hit with local businesses, tourists
The Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce celebrated Snowbirds and 100 years of Navarre history with a ‘Roaring 20s’ Snowbird Festival, hosted at St. Sylvester Catholic Church.
The Chamber annually holds snowbird events, including a festival. This year’s festival was put on with the collaboration of the Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Office and a variety of sponsors and vendors.

TC’s Front Porch issues statement on restaurant accessibility
