Dolphin found on Eglin Property by Navarre residents

While venturing down Navarre Beach, as he does every morning, Doug Browne and a friend discovered a sight they wished they didn’t have to see.

On May 25, Browne and Olivia Hagedoorn found a deceased dolphin washed up along the shoreline of the Gulf of Mexico. The dolphin was technically on Eglin Air Force Base property, but the friends managed to see it and contact someone with Gulf World Marine Institute.

March 27, 2024, marked the two-year anniversary of the disappearance of Cassie Carli, 37, a Navarre woman who was exchanging custody of her daughter with her daughter’s father at the time she disappeared. The incident became a national news story and led to the passing of legislation to address custody exchange safety.

A decade later, Tiffany Daniels’ family still holding onto hope

More than 600,000. That’s how many people go missing in the United States each year, according to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons (NamUS) database.

While most of those missing persons are recovered, either dead or alive, (89 to 92 percent according to NamUS) there are still plenty of people who remain missing for years. One such missing person is Tiffany Daniels, a then 25 year old woman from the Pensacola area.
