Navarre lifters crowned invite champs

With the clock pushing past 10 p.m. Wednesday night, the celebration was on for Navarre’s girls weightlifting team.

Five lifters won their respective weight classes and Bella Martin was named the pound for pound champion as Navarre excelled in its first big meet of the season, clinching the title once again.

Navarre’s girls basketball team is off to its best start in more than a decade.

The Raiders are 5-0, something they haven’t done in at least 15 years according to MaxPreps records, and their last two wins have only added to the momentum they have built up.

Navarre Park’s new completion date rapidly approaching

The contractor working on the renovation of Navarre Park has been granted 27 additional rain days to finish the project, which began a little more than a year ago. In addition to the weather, the completion was also challenged by issues with supplies for the splash pad.

Sheriff sheds light on Navarre homicides

After two homicides in Navarre in less than a week, Santa Rosa Sheriff Bob Johnson held a press conference Monday to share details of the two deadly shootings.

“Two [homicides] in four days puts a definite strain on our major crimes unit, our evidence unit and our crime scene units but they came out in stellar fashion and both these were concluded within three or four days,” Johnson said.
