Marathon volleyball match ends with Navarre getting edged by Panthers

Three years ago in Ryan Davenport’s first season as the head coach of Navarre’s volleyball team, the Raiders stumbled in their opener, losing in three games to Milton. Later that season, Navarre avenged the setback with a three-game win.

Which is why Davenport isn’t too concerned about last Tuesday’s season-opening loss to Milton in a match that had a playoff-like feel to it.

Navarre dominates Fort Walton in opener

Terence Marshall jumped up and celebrated with his Navarre teammates as he made his way to the sideline Friday night.

Only a sophomore, Marshall had just scored his second touchdown of the game, this time leaping and snagging a touchdown throw from Kyle Chambers to extend the Raiders’ lead over Fort Walton Beach to double digits.

Navarre will play in a new-look district once again

District play is back a year after the COVID-19 pandemic created a situation where there were no districts in 2020.

The new year also means a new-look district for Navarre, which will have a few familiar foes as well as a newcomer as the Raiders get ready to contend for their seventh district crown.

Elevate Navarre, formerly named The Boulevard, makes progress, along with three other developments

Long-awaited developments – including three grocery stores and a new residential community – are taking big steps forward in Santa Rosa County.

These include what was formally known as The Boulevard at the intersection of U.S. Highway 98 and State Road 87, a new two-story Publix, surrounded by still unnamed retail stores, an Aldi in the heart of Navarre and the first Publix in Milton.

Navarre wins Kickoff Classic that goes down to the wire

In a back-and-forth game that went right down to the wire, Navarre stepped up to make sure it secured a victory over West Florida Tech in its Kickoff Classic Friday night.

Needing one final stop to seal the deal, the Raiders didn’t disappoint, bringing the pressure and forcing the Jaguars to cough up the ball as time expired.

Navarre dominates preseason volleyball matches

Energized, unified and looking more sharp than a team typically is this time of the year, Navarre’s volleyball team rolled through a pair of preseason matches Thursday night in Pensacola.

The Raiders topped Northview and West Florida Tech in their first and only live action opportunity against actual opponents before a 2021 campaign that holds a lot of promise begins.
