The head of the Florida Republican Party, whose wife is a founder of one of the nation’s most prominent conservative groups, has been accused of rape, leading Gov. Ron DeSantis to call for his resignation, roiling the state’s conservative politics and creating accusations of hypocrisy from Democrats and LBGTQ+ activists.

Madison Simmons battled a cramp in her leg with a few minutes left in the fourth quarter, forcing her to the sideline during Navarre’s District 1-6A game against Pace Tuesday night.

It was a tough-luck moment for Navarre as it occurred at a point in a game that once seemed out of reach, but now appeared winnable, the Raiders trimming a double-digit advantage down to seven.

Santa Rosa County brought in $6.6 million this past fiscal year

The numbers for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 (Oct. 1, 2022, to Sept. 30, 2023) are in and according to Santa Rosa County Tourist Development director Julie White, it was a big year.

Tax collections came in at a little over $6.6 million this year. A 4.4% increase year over year. During FY2021-22, the total tax collections was $6.3 million.
