Large cross, prayer wall now a fixture at local business

If you walk into Dawn’s Cookies and Café, you might see a large cross on the wall opposite the cash register. The cross is part of what Dawn Funk calls a “prayer wall,” or a place where people can place notes asking for people to pray for them or a loved one.

Santa Rosa Professional Educators continue negotiations with district

Going into their March 6 negotiation with Santa Rosa District Schools, David Godwin of the Santa Rosa Professional Educators said the two sides were at an impasse over a contract for instructional staff. Santa Rosa Professional Educators is the union which represents instructional staff such as teachers in the county’s public schools.

While neither side has budged much in contract talks, SRPE brought forth a new proposal to try and garner a compromise with the district.

Leggett turns in strong performance at Sun Belt tourney
