Local Vietnam vets ‘welcomed home’

Wreaths Across America’s Mobile Education Exhibit tour made a stop in Navarre at the Navarre United Methodist Church parking lot on Tuesday. Three local veterans were honored by the Mobile Education Exhibit’s Ambassador and Driver Stefan Brann in front of a room full of family members and visitors.

UPDATED: Teen failed to see dump truck, pulled out in front of it

A 17-year-old Gulf Breeze teen has been cited for a Tuesday morning accident that tied up traffic on U.S. Highway 98 in the Tiger Point area.

The boy turned right from Central Parkway onto the highway, failing to notice a loaded dump truck in that lane. The truck driver, a 47-year-old man from Milton, tried to avoid hitting the teen’s vehicle, but struck the car anyway before overturning.

Raider swimmers have strong showing against Milton

Until last Tuesday, Navarre had never competed in a swim meet at the Gospel Project pool in Milton. In fact, head coach Mary Moorer admitted she didn’t know it existed.

But the pool was a little different than normal, especially with no blocks to dive off for the start of a race. The depth at the starting area was 10 feet and it dipped to 4 feet at the other end of the pool.
