FWC law enforcement, national groups talk ‘Operation Dry Water’

Rainy weather couldn’t stop the kickoff to Operation Dry Water at U.S. Coast Guard Station Destin on Wednesday, July 3.

Operation Dry Water, started in 2009, is a national initiative to increase awareness and enforce Boating Under the Influence laws. Each Fourth of July weekend, a heightened enforcement campaign is held. The goal of Operation Dry Water is to reduce the number of alcohol and drug-related boating incidents and fatalities.

Remembering the fallen

An explosion, heard from more than 20 miles away, rocked and decimated the walls of the barracks near King Abdulaziz Air Base as frantic screams of terror pour out of the building.
