It could have been a fold-up shop kind of night for the Navarre Raider baseball team.


The Raiders were in 5-0 hole after two innings against Escambia last Tuesday night, but rather than back down, they battled back in a home game against the Gators.

Navarre’s softball team walked off the field stinging from a heartbreaking defeat to reigning 6A state champion Pace last Tuesday night.


Yet, the Raiders also walked away from the 13-9, extra-inning loss with a bit of added confidence, the belief that they do have what it takes to compete with the best.

Navarre’s boys lacrosse team is enjoying a late-season surge and has inched closer to its first winning campaign in program history.


The Raiders won their fifth consecutive game last Tuesday night, holding off Milton 12-6 in a second meeting with the Panthers that was much closer than the first.

It had been nearly three weeks since Navarre’s flag football team had played a game.


But the Raiders didn’t need much time to get on track, rolling over Tate 34-13 Tuesday night at Bennett C. Russell Stadium.

It’s regional meet week in boys weightlifting. The Region 1-3A meet is Wednesday in DeLand and the Region 1-1A meet is Saturday at Baker.


In both meets, there will be no shortage of representation from Northwest Florida.
