School board plans slight increase for new school year

Santa Rosa County District Schools is seeking to increase its millage rate from 5.398 to 5.414 for the upcoming tax year. The increased millage rate will mean an increase in property taxes.

The move comes as the district proposes a decrease to its total budget size.

Lighthouse Stingrays have eyes on another title run in football

Quarterback Brayden Jackson was part of a Lighthouse Private Christian Academy team that won a state title for the first time in program history last season.


He said going into this year it’s important for the Stingrays to remember what helped them reach the height of their sport.

Leadership Santa Rosa Class 38 visited various locations across the Navarre area July 17 for “Tourism Day: A Wild Ride Through Santa Rosa County,” which offered a firsthand look at hospitality and attractions in the tourism industry.
