Subtract the opening quarter of Navarre’s girls lacrosse game against rival Gulf Breeze and the Raiders played the powerhouse Dolphins pretty tough Wednesday night.


So while a 15-8 defeat at the hands of Gulf Breeze in Dolphin Stadium is technically a loss, it’s also a big step forward for Navarre in a season that has been historic for the program.

Jon Bessellieu walked up to the podium at the District 1-3A weightlifting meet last month with a Bible in his hand.


It was his way of hopefully inspiring others to dive deeper into their faith.

Navarre’s boys lacrosse team made program history on Saturday.

As Bo Shipley plays his senior season of high school baseball at Navarre, his dad, Jess, has a front row seat as one of the team’s assistant coaches.


As a father who knows these moments at the ballpark with his son are winding down, Jess is doing his best to make them all count.

Eddie Love Jr. is back at Navarre, the place it all started for him in high school, and he’s spending his final months as a high school athlete running track for the Raiders.


“To come back, it’s like friends and family. It feels like home. I definitely enjoy being back,” Love said.
