Navarre’s girls and boys tennis teams will compete in the District 1-3A tournament April 16-17 at Shoreline Park in Gulf Breeze.

Rozlyn Palmer charged up the field, weaved through the defense and found an opening to score the game-winning goal against Tate Wednesday night at Bennett C Russell Stadium.

Palmer raised her hands in the air after the goal with 5:53 to play in regulation, and then the freshman found senior teammate Ravyn Jimenez and hugged her.

Ryan Ragan stepped up to the plate with the bases loaded in the seventh inning, the game tied, confident he would deliver in a big moment for Navarre’s baseball team.

This battle between the Raiders and visiting Lafayette County should have been over long before the clock pushed toward 10 p.m., but for Navarre, winning late was better than never on this mild Tuesday evening.

Kaelen Boozer’s interest in tennis was first sparked while watching the sport on television.

That was the summer before his freshman year at Navarre and Boozer said his dad asked him if he wanted to play. He took him up on the offer and hasn’t looked back.

Natalie Busch made a touchdown catch in stride, the pass from Bella Kendall sailing over the outstretched hand of a defender and into the hands of the junior standout.
