Gift keeps on giving for Navarre Gardens resident

Trains hold a special place in the hearts of many. For one Navarre resident, the puff of steam, the sound of the horn and the vibration along the tracks as the train goes by evoke childhood memories.

“I remember when my father got me a small (toy) train set when I was little,” said David Cardenas. “I love small and big trains. I was once on a big one.”

Navarre High hosts job fair

Navarre High School’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) program hosted a job fair for students March 6 featuring close to a dozen different employers from across the community and region. The job fair allowed students the opportunity to speak with people who work in a variety of career fields, including the nonprofit space, small businesses and the U.S. Military.

Navarre picks up district win over Milton Panthers in lacrosse

Navarre’s boys lacrosse team dominated Milton in a rivalry game on  March 6 and it was just what the Raiders needed after a tough loss to Niceville five days earlier.


The Raiders rolled to a 17-3 win over the Panthers at the Milton Community Center, notching their third victory of the season.

Celebrating 50 years of Navarre Garden Club

Navarre Garden Club members came together Tuesday, March 4, for a celebration of the organization’s 50th anniversary at Holley Navarre Fire District’s Station 45 meeting room. The milestone was marked with cake and a meeting to discuss what’s in store for the rest of 2025.

Nary makes program history in boys lacrosse at Navarre

Landen Nary became the all-time leader in goals scored for Navarre’s boys lacrosse team last week.


Nary scored five goals in a 17-3 win over Milton on March 6, paving the way for a big Raider victory while also pushing his career total to 49.

Navarre High student now a published author

Few students in high school can say they have written a book. Even fewer can say their school carries their book in the school library. Navarre High School junior Brooke Allen is one of those students.

Under the pen name, Rhonni Vantrease, Allen has written and published a book, which was released last month through Barnes & Noble Press.

Injunction against Holley Navarre Water System dismissed, new board seated

An injunction to stop the election process of Holley Navarre Water System reached a determination Thursday, Feb. 27.

Filed Feb. 14, a few days before the HNWS annual meeting and election, the injunction aimed to prevent the water system from canceling out proxies which originated outside of the system. The water system allows proxy voting, which is when a member gives another member the right to vote on their behalf.
