Samantha Class was back on the court with the Navarre Raider volleyball team Tuesday night a week after being in a tough situation.

“I was actually sick in the hospital last week. This is kind of my comeback I guess,” Class said with a smile.

The full course, which will be roughly two semesters in length, will start next school year (SY 2025-26) and serve as another addition to the high school’s already stacked line-up of career and technical education (CTE) courses and opportunities.

For the senior linebacker, the season opener against the Pensacola Catholic Crusaders meant a little more, especially after he missed last week’s preseason game with an injury.

Thursday’s home opener against Pensacola Catholic was a little too close for comfort at the end, but then again, maybe that kind of situation wasn’t such a bad thing for the Navarre Raider volleyball team after all.

Once ahead by a handful of points in the third set, the Raiders trailed 24-23 and felt the pressure rising before responding to close out the Crusaders in three sets with a 27-25 victory.
