It might have rained on this parade, but it didn’t matter. Hundreds of people in the community came out Feb. 12 to shower the special needs guests of Night to Shine with love and support. There were 64 guests and close to 250 volunteers, all of whom celebrated in the rain Friday night.

Two agencies, two responses to proposed borrow pit land-use change

In letters dated three days apart last month, two regulatory agencies offered complementary responses to a proposed change to the Santa Rosa County Comprehensive Plan that would permit more open-pit mining near East Milton water wells.

The wells, which are supplied by a sand-and-gravel aquifer, provide water to tens of thousands of county residents and businesses.

When 220+ signatures of verified voters in Santa Rosa County voicing opposition to a county board of commissioners’ (all documented and available for public verification on BOCC website) empty resolution saying we support their resolution when we do not, ignoring our voices, is plain wrong.
