The Holley-Navarre Water System (HNWS) Board of Directors held their monthly meeting Nov. 16 at The Club at Hidden Creek. As I was typing my column, I found out that Adam’s Sanitation is suing the county again. I told our editor, Wendy, that they must have a lot of money to burn.

She then reminded me that Nathan Boyles is an attorney. He is also a county commissioner in Okaloosa County. So, he knows what it is like to be a county commissioner and he is an attorney.

Incorporation won’t make life better in Navarre

Last week, two Navarre residents wrote letters advocating turning Navarre into a city. Incorporating Navarre into a city would create several layers of bureaucracy to regulate everyday life – added layers that we all would have to pay for.

It’s a bad year for grants in Santa Rosa County, between the failure to apply for a road improvement grant, effectively costing former county administrator, Dan Schebler, his job and, more recently, a local fire district reversing its course on accepting FEMA money.
