Caitlin Tilton remembers playing against Niceville as a freshman three years ago and how both games against the Eagles didn’t end with the desired outcome.

The Raiders lost 7-4 and 3-0, the shutout loss coming in the district tournament, but Tilton finally got to enjoy a little revenge against the Eagles earlier this month as Navarre beat Niceville 2-1 for its first win over the Eagles in nearly a decade.

Livestock officer charged with killing stray mule

Justice is being served for the stray mule that was shot and killed on Tuesday, April 12. Philip Alan Hayes has been charged with felony for torturing or inflicting pain, serious injury, or death on an animal, as well as a misdemeanor for the inhumane slaughter of livestock. Hayes turned himself in to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office around 10 p.m. on Monday, April 18, almost a week after the incident on Deaton Bridge Road in Milton. Hayes was released just after midnight.

Businesses played supportive role to help family during and after Carli search

With the tragic news of Cassie Carli’s body being discovered in Alabama, the search efforts of friends, family and volunteers ended.

The Navarre community and other parts of Northwest Florida helped in the search effort over the six days that Carli was missing.

April 2nd was my “spiritual birthday.”

It was on April 2, 1984, that I was “born again” by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ. That term “born again” has gained some unfortunate baggage in recent years but it is thoroughly biblical. Jesus said to the Pharisee, Nicodemus, “Truly, truly I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
