First responders at scene of fatal accident

Medical helicopters have removed multiple patients from a rollover accident at Wallace Lake Road and Chumuckla Highway in the north end of Santa Rosa County. At least one person has been confirmed dead, according to preliminary information from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident was called in at 9:41 a.m. and extrication was required.

Number of local COVID cases eclipse weekly vaccinations

Data released late Friday by the Florida Department of Health showed COVID cases rising sharply in Santa Rosa County, for the first time in recent weeks eclipsing the number of new vaccinations. Last week, 2,101 new cases were recorded, while only 1,743 vaccinations were administered.
