Raider Game Day! Navarre focused on postseason

Navarre is seeking its first postseason win in four years tonight when it takes on Creekside tonight in the opening round of the Region 1-4S playoffs.

The Raiders (8-2) face the Knights (8-2) at 7:30 p.m. at Bennett C. Russell Stadium in a win-or-go-home situation.

Whiting Field hosts 2022 Fleet Fly In

If you were anywhere near NAS Whiting Field this past week, you may have seen a large variety of helicopters dotting the skies. The Naval Air Station hosted the 32nd annual Naval Helicopter Association Gulf Coast “Fleet Fly In” from Nov. 2 to Nov. 4.

The Fleet Fly In is designed to provide several days of training and knowledge sharing to Training Air Wing Five students. The event helps flight students prepare to make career decisions on selecting their fleet aircraft platform.

Navarre man arrested after investigation into Pine Ranch Drive shooting

A suspect in the Pine Ranch Drive shooting case has been arrested. Joshua Richard Huston, 47, is currently in Santa Rosa County Jail for his role in an incident that put a man in the hospital with a gunshot wound on Mon., Nov. 7.

According to the warrant report for Huston’s arrest, deputies responded to a reported shooting at 2075 Pine Ranch Drive in Navarre yesterday at 2 a.m. According to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office, the deputies encountered Huston, who owns the undeveloped lot where the shooting occurred.

Pensacola Airport looks to expand in next few years

The past couple of years have seen a record breaking amount of people coming through the Pensacola International Airport (PNS).

At the end of September, the 2022 numbers came in. Approximately 2.4 million passengers went through PNS during the past fiscal year, which runs from Oct. 1 to Oct. 1 each year.

Immanuel Baptist set to host CCM artists, Building 429

On Nov. 13 at 7 p.m., Building 429, a chart topping Contemporary Christian band, will play Immanuel Baptist Church’s Worship Center.

The concert, which also features Cade Thompson, is being put on at Immanuel Baptist, both to entertain and connect audiences to the music, as well as bring more attention to the church.

It’s not a big ask by any stretch of the imagination. I just want to make sure order remains in place when it comes to the district involving Santa Rosa County teams.

Raider alum Kileigh Whited playing every possible role for UWF

Kileigh Whited ran up the field in last week’s Gulf South Conference tournament opener hoping to make a play on the ball. A 70-yard sprint to glory. This was her golden opportunity to score a rare goal.

Brianna Pope stopped just outside the left side of the circle, putting the ball in the middle of the field, and Whited did the rest, running up to it and kicking it past the goalie and into an open net as she fell to the ground.
