Navarre comes together for third annual Challenge 22

It’s estimated 22 veterans die by suicide every day. To raise awareness of veterans suicide and PTSD, American Legion Post 382 hosts Challenge 22 event. This year marked the third year of the event.

Held at Navarre Park Saturday, Sept. 30, members of Post 382, other Legionnaires and community members came together to support veterans by raising money to Project: VetRelief, which provides resources and services to veterans including emergency assistance and helping veterans collect their benefits.

Veterans Alliance to host golf tournament

On November 10, Emerald Coast Veterans Alliance will host charity golf tournaments at Stone Brook Golf Club, Scenic Hills Golf Club and Lost Key Golf Club. The top three teams at each tournament will then compete in the finals at Stone Brook Golf Club on Veterans Day, November 11.

November’s fifth annual golf tournament is a big deal, and ECVA president Bucky Howle boasts that “the last three years, we’ve been sold out six weeks prior to the event.” People from all over the panhandle come to support and honor the men and women who have given so much to protect our country.

We are looking for additional writers and correspondents for all three of our news organizations. And we need an administrative assistant for the front office at Navarre Press.

Sweep success for Navarre Raiders in match against Catholic

Addison Maddux checked into the game with the Navarre Raider volleyball team on the brink of another win.

A player who has seen limited playing time as a freshman on varsity, she was given her moment to shine as Julia Irmen set the ball in the air and Maddux hammered home the match-winning kill to finish out a sweep of Catholic on the road.

I know the Sunshine State has long opposed moving into the world of NIL for high school athletes, but with a neighboring state opting to go all in, the pressure is really on for Florida to do the same.
