The U.S. Small Business Administration announced today that federal Economic Injury Disaster Loans are available in Florida and most private nonprofit organizations with economic losses due to the drought conditions that began on Oct. 3, 2023.

‘One Pill Can Kill’: Stopping fentanyl overdoses is a community responsibility

Speak up. Talk to your children, your siblings, your friends. Tell them until they’re sick of hearing it: “One pill can kill.”

By now, most people know the United States is plagued by opioid addiction, overdoses and death; most people have heard of fentanyl, know that it’s dangerous even in miniscule doses; know it’s combined with other drugs to increase drug dealers’ profits….and still, fentanyl-related overdoses are on the rise.

Florida Attorney General sues Cox Pools for abandoned jobs

Attorney General Ashley Moody is taking legal action against a Gulf Coast pool company and its owner for taking large upfront payments from consumers and leaving jobs incomplete. According to an investigation by the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division, Cox Pools of the Gulf Coast, LLC, and its owner, Hillary Bello, accepted payments from at least 27 consumers in exchange for pool construction services, then failed to perform the services as promised—leaving consumers with unfi nished pools and holes in backyards.
