Despite the rain, a crowd of over 50 people gathered beneath a pavilion at Navarre Park Monday, Nov. 11, to pay tribute to veterans and honor the sacrifices they and their families make. Each Nov. 11, groups such as American Legion Post 382, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 11367, Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, and local Scouting America (Boy Scout) troops gather at Navarre Park to celebrate Veterans Day.
The Gulf Breeze Zoo is proud to announce its newest member, a baby Nile hippopotamus. Cleopatra gave birth to a healthy male calf weighing approximately 75 pounds on September 23 after an 8-month pregnancy. Both mother and Chibuzo are in excellent condition and are on exhibit for viewing.
Tallahassee – Incoming House Speaker Daniel Perez on Thursday rolled out changes to House committees, while saying lawmakers have “spent taxpayer funds excessively and indiscriminately in the last few years.”

With over 1.7 million visitors to Navarre Beach during lifeguarding season (March through October), NBLG had to respond to a litany of issues including medical calls, missing persons, distressed swimmers and surfers, and code enforcements.
