Water System board assigned roles at reorganization meeting, injunction against HNWS dismissed

An injunction to stop the election process of Holley Navarre Water System was thrown out by a Santa Rosa County judge Thursday, Feb. 27.

Filed Feb. 14, a few days before the HNWS annual meeting and election, the injunction aimed to prevent the water system from canceling out proxies which originated outside of the system. The water system allows proxy voting, which is when a member gives another member the right to vote on their behalf.

FPL proposes rate increases

Tallahassee – Florida Power & Light on Feb. 28 filed a proposal that would lead to higher electric bills for customers over the next four years, with the utility pointing to issues such as growth and a need to build more solar-energy facilities.

Junior lifeguards tryouts registration now open

While Navarre Beach Lifeguards’ junior lifeguard program doesn’t hit the beach until summer, tryout registration for the program is now open.

The 2025 junior lifeguard tryouts will be held April 26, May 3 and May 26. All tryouts are at 8 a.m.

Navarre Raiders represent at area all-star soccer game

The Navarre Raider soccer programs were well-represented at the Pensacola Sports Association All-Star games on Thursday.


Cici Buffalino, Natalie Busch, Bre Smith, Rory Curtis, Taylor Armstead and Tyra Uwizeyimanna played in the girls game while Ryan Evans, Mateo Soto and Nathan McGovern played on the boys all-star team.
