Raiders use volleyball match against rival as learning experience

There were moments Wednesday night, especially in the second set, where the smiles grew wide, the cheering got loud, and the momentum was right there for the taking against rival Gulf Breeze.


Navarre was within a few points of the Dolphins a few times but could never quite get over the hump as the Raiders dropped their season opener in three sets to the 2024 6A state runner-up.

Raider boys golf team set for another season

Navarre’s boys golf team has a good deal of experience heading into the 2025 season.


Leading the way is Logun Toney, who didn’t golf last season but was with the Raiders as a freshman and sophomore.

Nearly 300 pythons caught in 2025 during Florida Python Challenge

This July, state officials, hunters and curious citizens made their way to the Florida Ever-glades to remove invasive pythons from the region.
The 2025 Florida Python Challenge, in its 12th year, took place over 10 days and tasked par-ticipants with removing as many members of the invasive species as they could. Winners were determined by how many pythons were removed and their size.

Pensacola law firm alleges Santa Rosa schools’ negligence led to student’s sexual assault

Levin Papantonio Law Firm, based in Pensacola, has filed a lawsuit against the Santa Rosa County School Board, alleging the district’s negligence directly led to the assault of a minor students in the boys’ locker room at Gulf Breeze High School.
The assault occurred March 14, 2024. For the purposes of protecting the victim’s identity, they refer to her as S.A.C.

We hope you enjoy our Sports Guide in this issue of Navarre Press. A few years ago, our sports reporter, Brian Lester, went from covering one high school to making sure we have coverage for eight high schools. That is a huge leap in coverage. Thankfully, we have had help from high school yearbook staff and others that want to get on the field and courts and report on the games. Brian has done a phenomenal job.
