Jason Kisor named head coach of new college flag football program

Jason Kisor wasn’t expecting to be a college flag football coach so soon. But the opportunity presented to the current coach of the Navarre Raider flag football team was one he couldn’t pass up.


Kisor has been named the head coach of the flag football program that John Melvin Christian College in Pace is starting. The inaugural season is set for the spring of 2026.

Federal Prison Camp Pensacola to close, be demolished

The Federal Bureau of Prisons has announced its intent to close six prison camp facilities across the United States, including Federal Prison Camp (FPC) Pensacola. In addition to the prison camp facilities, the Bureau of Prisons is also closing Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Dublin in California.

Navarre Raider boys soccer team benefits from strong leadership

Navarre’s boys soccer team has a strong senior class that has played a big role in the Raiders’ impressive start to the 2024-25 season.


Fifteen are on the roster and many of them remember the lean years of the program, which won a combined five games over a two-year stretch before winning 10 games last season.

Since the resignation of Matt Gaetz in early November, Northwest Florida’s seat in the U.S. House of Representatives has remained vacant. With a special primary election set for Tuesday, Jan. 28, Republicans vying for the seat met at Emerald Waterfront (formerly The Grillehouse) in Navarre for a candidate forum.
