The statistics are astounding. According to Florida’s Long-term Care Ombudsman Program, nearly 60 percent of long-term care residents in Florida do not receive visits from family members and friends. Unfortunately, that means that no one is looking out for their best interests when it comes to their health, safety, welfare and personal rights.
Deputies were dispatched to a Panhandle Trail apartment for a fight in progress at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17. Upon arrival, deputies found two men with stab wounds.
Brandon Worley, 35, of Winners Circle in Navarre was arrested Oct. 17 and charged with grand theft, trespassing and criminal mischief with property damage more than $1,000.
Marvin Eugene Darby Jr., 20, of Andorra Street in Navarre was arrested Oct. 15 for alleged obstruction of justice in connection with an upcoming burglary trial involving himself and Devin Michael Colonel, 21, of Parkridge Drive in Navarre.
Loose dogs are a growing concern for neighborhoods in Navarre. Local social media pages are filled with pleas from canine owners for neighbors to be on the lookout for their missing dog, or with photos of found dogs that need to be reunited with their families. And a drive down any Navarre street will turn up a run-away dog or three.
October is a busy month in Navarre and basically everywhere. It was mentioned at our Monday morning meeting that there seems to be more going on in October than there is during the summer. This weekend seems to be the busiest one of the month.
Two employees of Tom Thumb Stores were arrested Thursday afternoon Oct. 8 as suspects in an employee-related theft over the last several weeks while employees at the store.
