Dear Santa Rosa County School District, I saw some pictures of Pine Forest’s new track and it looks beautiful.


It’s a rubberized track that will be ready to go for the spring. I wish we could say the same for schools in this county when it comes to tracks in the area.

Where voters cast their ballot on election day is decided by the address on their voter registration. Voters must go to their registered voting precinct to cast their ballot on election day. With Santa Rosa County District Schools returning Aug. 12, students and their families may have questions regarding where to find information such as calendars, registration links, start and dismissal times and much more. Here are some key dates, times and links to help your family get ready.

Wastewater plan doesn’t work

Pretty simple concept, isn’t it?  The City of Milton plans to spray wastewater on 33-77 acres in the Santa Rosa County Wellfield Protection Area.  Not only Milton’s sewage; the plan is to pipe wastewater from NAS Whiting Field to the proposed new Milton wastewater treatment plant, via new sewer mains underneath the Blackwater River.

Sheriff issues fraud alert for Aron Carrillo

Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office has issued a Fraud Alert to the public on Aron Carrillo Jimenez and his company, Tres Carrillos LLC.

Carrillo, 34, has been charged with grand theft, two counts of contracting without a license and failing to obtain building permits throughout the Florida Panhandle, Alabama and Louisiana.

In this instance, we’re talking about Navarre alum Emily (Madril) Sams, who is in Paris this week for the 2024 Olympics. She’s an alternate on the United States Women’s National Soccer Team.
