Navarre’s 2023 girls soccer season ended without a postseason berth after a 1-0 loss to Pace last January in the semifinal round of the district tournament.
Despite the lack of a Navarre Pass, Navarre Beach has a significant boating culture. One part of the boating scene along Navarre’s coast is the Navarre Beach Yacht Club.
Founded in 1991, Navarre Beach Yacht Club has been a group of, by and for boaters and boating enthusiasts throughout the years. According to their website, the Navarre Beach Yacht Club’s purpose is to “provide a venue for fun and enjoyment of the members allowing captains to share their boating enthusiasm with people of like-minded attitudes… and latitudes.”
On Nov. 4, a local church will be building beds for those less fortunate.
Navarre United Methodist is partnering with Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a national nonprofit which builds twin sized beds for children ages three to 17 and delivers them fully furnished. From 2012 (the year it was founded) to 2022, Sleep in Heavenly Peace has delivered approximately 140,583 beds. There are 326 chapters of the organization.
Holley Navarre Middle School, East Bay K-8 and West Navarre Intermediate School held STEAM nights this week. STEAM is short for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. Check out some photos from the STEAM nights.
Preserve Navarre has reached “halftime” of its fight to incorporate southeastern Santa Rosa County, according to its president, Wes Siler.
“Think of it like football,” Siler said at a meeting Monday, Oct. 23, at Best Western. “At halftime, you review tactics, make adjustments, and try to come out with new energy and better effort. That’s what we’ve got to do now.”
This was a Navarre team doubted when the season began. A team not expected to do much based on some of the players it lost, be it through graduation or the unofficial high school transfer portal.
Yet here the Raiders were on a Friday night in late October, on the road against a tough Pace team, proving people wrong again.
Navarre head volleyball coach Ryan Davenport hunched over in a huddle late in Tuesday’s wild District 1-6A semifinal against Pace.
His body language said it all. This match had taken a lot out of him as he watched his Raiders will their way back from a two-game deficit to put themselves on the brink of a remarkable comeback win.
