Durham teaches students through song

First grade teacher Stacy Durham was named Teacher of the Year for West Navarre Primary School (WNPS).

She has been teaching in Santa Rosa County for 17 years. Durham joked about retiring after claiming to have taught first grade to the daughter of one of her previous fourth grade students.

Rain, flood, repeat

The front porch of the home at the corner of Avenida De Sol and Mercado Street in Navarre is a bit different from the neighbors.

There’s no furniture or decorations. Sandbags are piled to one side, and walls around the door frame have been modified with a system to allow plastic barriers to be snapped into place.
