Angela Puckett is pleased with what she has seen from the Navarre Raider girls basketball team this summer.


It is especially encouraging considering this is a Raider team that has no returning starters and is looking to lay a foundation now for the 2024-25 campaign.

With a small crowd gathered inside Navarre High’s media center Monday morning, John Crossley got a little emotional talking about being named the new head baseball coach of the Raiders.


This new role means a lot to him, especially as a Navarre grad, so the fighting back of the tears is understandable.

John Crossley has been named the next head coach of the Navarre Raider baseball team.


Crossley has been an assistant with the team for four years and is a Navarre alum.

Madison Simmons always seemed destined to play college basketball. And she’ll get the chance to do it after signing with Notre Dame of Maryland University earlier this year.


Simmons was a four-year starter for the Raiders during her time at Navarre and is now looking forward to the next chapter.
