Isaiah Hayes dribbled the ball near the Pace logo as the final seconds ticked away in regulation. Tied game. Time running out. The pressure was on for Navarre to make something happen.

Hayes made a move toward the basket, dribbling a few times and drawing a double team. Rather than force something, he kicked the ball out to Ty Mitchell, who was standing in front of the Navarre bench ready to deliver.

Santa Claus on duty at Holley by the Sea home

A Navarre couple has turned their front yard into a Christmas experience, complete with regular visits from Santa Claus. The Christmas photo opportunity at 2010 Commodore Drive in Holley by the Sea, is open for visitors through Dec. 20.

Santa Claus, aka John Delbert, will be out there every Friday and Saturday evening from 6 to 8 to meet with children and give out gift bags.

Patching looks back on first year with Argos

Jack Patching had tears in his eyes. His gray warm-up shirt was still over his head. His face only showed partly as he talked about the disappointing ending to an otherwise great first season of college soccer.

Patching’s shot was stopped by the goalkeeper as a 13-round penalty kick shootout in the NCAA Division II tournament ended in heartbreak for the University of West Florida.
