Prochazka has been on a different kind of court this spring

Layla Prochazka is best known for her play on the volleyball court at Navarre. She was an integral part of the Raiders’ success this past season, stepping up as one of the team’s top hitters with 268 kills.

She has spent the spring of her senior year, however, on a different kind of court. A tennis court.

Pastors often feel called to minister but not too many have been called to fix someone’s electricity.

Jonathan McCullough, pastor of Brownsdale Baptist Church near Jay, can say he has done both. McCullough has worked in ministry and as an electrical contractor. Nowadays, when he isn’t shepherding the flock at church or in the community, he is hard at work, teaching students at Locklin Technical College.

Cam Pollard sat on the bench for a few moments after he had completed his final lift, waiting to see if the monitor would light up with three check marks to indicate success.

It turned out to be a sight worth seeing as the Navarre senior hit a 415 lbs. bench press total.

Captain’s Cove development stuck with county, water system over sewer main need

Captain’s Cove, formerly known as Brooks East, is a development along Noleka Court in Navarre. It sits directly east of Brooks Landing, a series of homes constructed in 2021.

According to eclipse2024.org, the eclipse is a total eclipse for those in the path of totality, however, north Santa Rosa County will experience a partial eclipse with 80% magnitude (or coverage of the sun) on Monday, April 8, 2024.
