Navarre’s flag football team nearly knocked off Chiles for a second time this season.
Facing the Timberwolves in a Region 1-3A quarterfinal in Tallahassee Wednesday night, the Raiders battled tough all the way through in a 13-6 loss that ends their year.
Even though the season ended with a 20-1 loss to Bartram Trail in the regional tournament Tuesday night in Jacksonville, Navarre’s girls lacrosse team is not defined by that defeat.
It was, after all, an historic season for the Raiders, one where they set a record for wins and played in a regional for the first time in the five-year history of the program.
Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Gulf Breeze recently said goodbye to their interim pastor, Steven Simon and his wife Dottie. Simon had been serving in the pastoral role at the church since October.

Meanwhile, the Senate Ethics and Elections Committee on Tuesday refused to back another DeSantis appointee, University of West Florida trustee Adam Kissel.
The Florida State Senate recently passed a bill which will ban fluoride in drinking water supplies across the Sunshine State. The proposed ban, included in the “Florida Farm Bill,” would prevent adding substances to public water supplies which aren’t about “water quality.”
Former Navarre football standout Bailey Huston has been named to the National Football Foundation’s Hampshire Honor Society.
Huston recently wrapped up his career at NCAA Division III Huntingdon and is among a group of athletes selected across all levels of college athletics.
