Tyrell Marshall still feels like he has a lot to prove

Tyrell Marshall battled through pain last year to be on the field. A shoulder injury since his freshman season was something he played through before getting surgery on it at the end of last season.

The Santa Rosa County Library System held their second week of summer reading program activities at each of their five library branches across the county. The featured presenter for the kindergarten through fifth-grade crowd was Michelle’s Magical Poodles, a troupe of trick dog performers who live with their owner, Michelle Harrell, in the Tiger Point area.

Simmons setting herself up for big senior season in hoops

A youth camp that Madison Simmons is helping out with is wrapping up, and the Navarre girls basketball standout is asked about the upcoming summer workouts and the fact that her senior year is rapidly approaching.

“It’s crazy it’s almost senior year,” Simmons said. “(High school) went by really fast.”

The tale of two judges lives on in dedication of law library

The law library at the Santa Rosa County Courthouse has a new name. On Thursday, June 1, county officials, lawyers, judges and many others attended the dedication of the law library in honor of former judges Colie Nichols Jr. and Woodrow Melvin.

The two judges played prominent roles in Santa Rosa County’s judicial history.

Experience and development focal points of summer hoops for Raiders

Another summer is underway for the Navarre boys basketball team and it’s a bit of a transition period for the team as it welcomes in a number of new faces.

Two of the top scorers are back for the Raiders in Darius Cunningham and Jonah Forrest, but meshing in some of the newcomers is one of the focal points of June and July.
