Everette Alford took over as the head coach at Lighthouse Private Christian Academy in the summer of 2022, giving him little time to truly get things set up the way he wanted going into the season.


The team finished 1-8 that year, but over the last two seasons, with Alford’s fingerprints visible on the program, Lighthouse has thrived.

As a ninth grader, Katelyn Weller looked up to Kyra McKelvey, a former Navarre Raider volleyball standout now playing collegiately at Southeastern Louisiana.


This past volleyball season, Weller put herself in the same sentence as McKelvey, breaking her single season kills record.

It hasn’t taken much to motivate Navarre’s cross-country teams this season. The Raiders always show up ready to work.

It wasn’t the season Navarre’s football team planned on. Only three wins and the first losing campaign since 2009 was anything but ideal.


And yet, the senior class did its best to lead the way.

Fresh off a district championship a year ago, Navarre’s girls soccer team aims to win another one this season.


With a mix of veteran talent and newcomers with potential, the Raiders have good reason to set the bar high once again.
