Senior fire prevention and safety vital to survival

According to the National Fire Protection Association website, “At age 65, people are twice as likely to be killed or injured by fires compared to the population at large.” Furthermore, according to the United States Fire Administration, older adults especially have an increased relative risk of injury or death in a fire. In 2013, the USFA reported that older adults comprised about 14 percent of the total U.S. population and that 36 percent of all fire deaths were from individuals of that demographic. Additionally, the USFA reported that “older adults had a 2.5 times greater risk of dying in a fire than the total population.” Perhaps even more shocking than the previously given stats, at age 85 and older, USFA reported that adult Americans were 3.6 times more likely to be involved in fire-caused fatalities.

Faith in America

According to a research study done in January by the Pew Research Center on public approval ratings for news media and religious organizations, “Millennials’ rating of churches and other religious organizations has dipped by 18 percentage points. About 55 percent now say churches have a positive impact on the country compared with five years ago, when nearly three-quarters (73 percent) said this.” Over the course of five years (2010-2015), this 55percent represents an all-time low for Millennial approval ratings of religious organizations. In contrast to the other generations, which all showed increased positivity toward churches and religious organizations, the Millennial Generation was a stark contrast of decline.

When they win…they will play Tuesday either Niceville or Lincoln, depending on the outcome of their games tonight. If for some reason the unforeseen happens – then they will have had a great season otherwise.
