Unable to fend off a state audit of his city’s operations, Gulf Breeze Mayor Matt Dannheisser is casting doubt on the number of petitioners who requested the review.
In a letter to the Joint Legislative Audit Committee dated Dec. 7—obtained by a public records request—Dannheisser questioned a previous assertion by State Sen. Doug Broxson that “more than 400 petitions” had been filed by Tiger Point area residents.
