Runner-up isn’t bad at all when one considers Navarre was in a District 1-3A girls weightlifting meet on Saturday that featured back-to-back state champion Pace.


The Raiders placed second in Olympic and traditional in the highly competitive meet at Pace as the road to state began. Double champions Izzy Zach and Olivia Hall led the way.

The first forecast days before the event hinted at a 1″-3″ of snowfall, but as the storm moved closer the forecast totals increased to 2″-4″ and then up to 6″. After the final flake fell, Navarre was near 8″.

Isabella Miranda came up with a steal that set up a second chance opportunity for the Navarre Raider girls basketball team in the fourth quarter of a game against Pensacola Monday afternoon.


The Raiders eventually cashed in, with Gabby Johnson knocking down a jumper near the free throw line.

Navarre Chamber’s Roaring 20s Snowbirds event a hit with local businesses, tourists

The Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce celebrated Snowbirds and 100 years of Navarre history with a ‘Roaring 20s’ Snowbird Festival, hosted at St. Sylvester Catholic Church.

The Chamber annually holds snowbird events, including a festival. This year’s festival was put on with the collaboration of the Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Office and a variety of sponsors and vendors.

Navarre Raiders come up short in rivalry game against Gulf Breeze

The Raiders didn’t win their rivalry matchup against the Dolphins on Jan. 11, losing 59-48, but they hit shots late that kept the score a little bit closer than one might expect against the No. 7 team in the state.
