Navarre Beach Sea Turtle Stranding Team has saved 56 turtles (so far) this year

Navarre Beach Fishing Pier is one of the leading areas for sea turtle strandings in the state of Florida. Despite Navarre Beach’s relatively small size (it’s only about 4 miles long), the pier and surrounding area can see anywhere from 45 to 67 turtles a year being rescued from fishing line, hooks and other entrapments. This year, that number is 56, and that’s only through September.

Navarre Raider cross-country teams shine at Argo Invitational

Navarre’s girls cross-country team has been running well this season, and the Raiders reached a high point with a team victory at the Argo Invitational Saturday on the campus of the University of West Florida.


The Raiders edged county rival Gulf Breeze by nine points (81-90), with two runners placing in the top 10.

Navarre couple receives ‘Quilt of Valor’
