Steve Chard is late setting up his tent at the Fort Pickens campground on a Sunday evening. After arriving in Florida by kayak earlier in the day, he got caught up in watching the Blue Angels fly.

Though Literacy Week is still months away, Woodlawn Beach Middle School has big plans to put books in the hands of all its students. To do that, the school is seeking community support.
Come out to Windjammers at the Pier Saturday and watch the Alabama vs. LSU game on the big screen. Bring a sweater because the high Saturday is 70 and the low is 54. Also – bring a lawn chair and some money to try their delicious beverages and food. Try the calamari – it is awesome…along with everything else.
