After Col. Randy Tifft of the Santa Rosa Sherriff’s Office presented a need for more staffing to keep the citizens of the county safe, the Board of County Commissioners voted to agreed to approve Sheriff Bob Johnson’s budget request in its entirety.

Junior lifeguards rescue ‘Tom Brady’ in final training session

If you happened to be on Navarre Beach on July 16, you may have noticed a group of small, tan lifeguards pulling a CPR dummy out of the water.

The dummy’s name is Brady, after football star Tom Brady, and the small lifeguards are the Navarre Beach Junior lifeguards, doing their final test after an intense two-week program where they learned everything from CPR to surfing to oceanography.
