County employees disciplined over Waste Pro

In the wake of the release of a 50-page report into Santa Rosa County’s dealings with Waste Pro, two top county employees have been disciplined.

Andrew Hill, the environmental manager for the solid waste division, has been suspended for 10 days without pay for his “failure to effectively manage and enforce the waste hauling contract,” according to the notice of action placed in his county personnel file.

Woman bites herself, accuses boyfriend, during fight over liquor, cigarettes

A 26-year-old Navarre woman was charged with battery for her role in a June 20 fight with her live-in boyfriend. According to her Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office arrest report, the couple started fighting around noon when he decided she’d been drinking too much and took away her bottle of liquor. She responded by tackling him, biting him and scratching him. A few hours later, she snatched away his pack of cigarettes, the report said.
