Navigate life through scripture

For most churches, serving the community is an aspect of their overall mission but for a new church being planted in Navarre, it is at the core of everything they do.

GPS Church, which will begin holding services Sunday, May 28, is centered around the idea of being present in the community and in people’s lives. The GPS in GPS Church stands for “God’s People Serving.”

Brian Out Loud

I made a donation to a GoFundMe for one of the local teams traveling to a regional tournament game last week.

I have nothing against giving to a good cause. It beats sending money to some random person who emails you asking for money so that he or she can get off an island they are stuck on in the middle of nowhere.

Recycling Update

Recycling in Santa Rosa County has been on hold since April 14, 2023 due to a staffing shortage at Emerald Coast Utilities Authority’s Materials Recycling Facility.

Emily Madril making most of opportunities as a pro

Emily Madril has moved past the excitement of National Women’s Soccer League Draft, where she was taken third overall by the Orlando Pride, and has settled into life as a pro in the United States.

In the days after that draft in February, the former Navarre Raider and Florida State standout talked about the road ahead at this level of soccer and her readiness to embrace the challenges of it.

There’s a hall of fame for just about everything

I have been a fan of video games for practically my entire life. My parents purchased an Atari 2600 for my brother and me in the early ‘80s and I’ve been hooked on them ever since.

I even wrote a weekly column on gaming at my last job that was published across the country for a few years. While I don’t consider myself an expert on the subject, I’m definitely well versed in it.
